Epifanes Fast Drying Epoxy Primer
Description:
Fast-drying two-component protective primer. Even at lower temperatures
excellent adhesion to (hot-dip galvanized) steel and non-ferrous metals, polyester
and plywood. Highly filling and excellent anti-corrosion properties.
Can be painted over with one- and two-component paints and primers based on alkyd, urethane, chlorinated rubber and epoxy.
Packaging: 4 Liter.
Application:
Filling primer / bonding primer in one- and two-component systems indoors and outdoors, above and below the waterline.
Very suitable as a repair primer on various painted surfaces and for maintenance of existing epoxy systems.
Paintable:
With alkyd and urethane paints and primers Min. after 5 hours at 18°C. max. after 10 days at 18°C.

Processing conditions during: application and drying
Temperature at least 10°C minimum. - maximum 28°C.

The temperature of the substrate must be at least 3 degrees above the dew point.

Thinning in general Add thinner after mixing both components.
Amount also depends on the temperature of the product and the environment.

Recommended layer thickness per coat 100 - 150 µm wet = 50 - 75 µm dry
Processing instructions Do not apply this product wet-on-wet and avoid higher layer thicknesses than
advised to prevent sagging and problems with through-drying.
Temperature of paint, object and environment should not differ too much
deviate.
Substrate conditions:
Completely free of rust, grease, dirt and other contaminants.
Remove salt and other water-soluble contamination by rinsing thoroughly
with clean water and a high-pressure hose or an emulsifier.
Remove grease and oil by cleaning with water and ammonia or another suitable cleaning agent.

during application, quality of the substrate and the shape of the object, etc.

Drying times at 50 µm dry film thickness
If a subsequent layer of Epoxy primer is applied within 5 days,
intermediate sanding is not necessary. After 5 days with grit P120
sand before applying a new coat.
